Our Mission

The Sequera Foundation is a registered 501c(3) empowering refugee, immigrant, and asylee newcomers to the United States.

Our unique approach centers the energies and talents of established New Americans, providing them with opportunities to give back by supporting incoming families in ways that are meaningful to them.

All funding areas are selected by New American stakeholders and satisfy critical needs that they have identified in their communities, or “pay forward” a similar act of kindness shown to them during their arrival and/or integration process.

New American led, New American driven.

From our Board of Directors to community stakeholders, we understand that those with active lived experience in a community are best positioned to recognize its strengths and needs.

We also celebrate the vast funds of knowledge and skills that immigrants bring with them, and we sharpen these tools for success.

Goal One

Ensure Access to Basic Needs

We provide newcomers to the United States, including refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and Humanitarian parolees, with access to essential basic needs such as initial housing, food and clothing assistance, healthcare, transportation, and legal fees. We aim to alleviate immediate hardships and promote stability as they embark on their journey of integration.

Goal Two

Foster Empowerment and Integration

We strive to empower newcomers by offering them opportunities for personal and professional growth, skill development, and cultural integration. Through job training, language support, and community engagement programs, we aim to enhance their self-sufficiency and enable them to contribute meaningfully to their new communities.

Goal Three

Facilitate Community Engagement and Collaboration

We build bridges between established New Americans and incoming families, creating a supportive and inclusive community network. Our goal is to engage established community members in volunteering, mentorship, and sharing their expertise, allowing them to actively participate in providing support that aligns with their own experiences and values. We believe that collective efforts and collaboration are key to fostering a sense of belonging and promoting a welcoming environment.

About Us

Sequera Foundation is the non-profit little sister to DiversifiED Consulting. It is the product of more than 15 years in refugee resettlement, integration, and multilingual education; the voices and lived immigration experiences of our entire Board and team; and the coming-to-life of one first-hand account after another that says:

“Once I’m on my feet, I’ll give back. I’ll reach a hand out to others, as has been done for me.”
